Samsung to sell a million Galaxy Note II's in Korea

Image
Samsung Galaxy S series all models Smart device market-leader Samsung has sold a million Galaxy Note II phablets in its home market South Korea just 92 days after launch. The company  announced last month that it has sold over 5 million Galaxy Note II units worldwide and, if the trend continues, the device will possibly hit a ten million sales high by early 2013. The latest milestone provides even more prof that consumers have become increasingly accustomed to   phablets . In just little over a year, Samsung phablets, especially the Galaxy Note, made quite an impact on smartphone- and tablet design, beating Apple in innovation as they left their mark on the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini. Other Samsung smartphones have done extremely well: the Galaxy S3 overtook the iPhone 4S as the world’s best selling phone in the3rd quarter of 2012 and gained an 11% share of all smartphones sold worldwide. In between the still ongoing patent wars with Apple, it looks like the two rivals are heading to

Snapchat, real-time picture chatting for iPhone and Android.

Snapchat is a new photo sharing app that is sweeping app stores worldwide. Unlike posting pics to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram; once they are seen by the intended recipient, they are gone. Snapchat is a free iOS and Android app that takes your snapshot, then allows you to send it to your friends. The built-in timer, allows you to set how long the person you are sending your picture to can see your image. The app will not even allow you to save the picture to your phone, or pull a photo from your photo library, so when the picture has been sent and seen, it's gone for good. That adds a nice fun element to it all. It’s almost like you need to make every moment count. Because once it’s gone… But there are some warnings about this new kid on the block as well. Some people believe it's helping tweens and teens to use the app as a way to send explicit messages and pictures. By putting a timer on their photos, some believe they can send potentially scandalous (sexually tinted) pic

New advances in brain controlled computer cursor

Image
For the millions of traumatic brain injury victims , neuro-degenerative diseases , strokes, or different neurological diseases , paralysis could be a devastating consequence. Scientists in the field of neural prostheses for years tried to address limb paralysis by developing implantable brain sensors that translate thoughts to actions such as computer cursor movement. Perfecting the computer algorithm for this translation has proven to be a big challenge. But recently, researchers at Stanford University have designed an algorithm, known as ReFIT, that greatly improves the speed and accuracy of neural prostheses which control computer cursors. The advantage of the ReFIT technology is that it allows the system to make immediate adjustments while guiding the cursor to a target, just as a hand and eye work together to move a mouse-cursor onto an icon on a computer desktop. According to the press release: The system relies on a silicon chip implanted into the brain, which records “action
